Commonly Asked Questions!

Costs

what will it cost you ?

The conveyancer's costs are borne by the purchaser. In practice, the conveyancer will collect the deposit and his transfer costs from the purchaser before proceeding to lodge the documents at the Deeds Office.

Upon registration of transfer at the Deeds Office, the conveyancer will recover the balance of the purchase price together with any other additional costs from the purchaser. This will be reflected in a final statement of account.

A final statement of account is also sent to the seller where the conveyancer will recover any additional costs from him/her such as courier fees.

The conveyancer's costs are calculated in terms of a formula according to the purchase price of the property and his/her disbursements are guided by the rules laid down by law.

The conveyancing fees charged are based on the fee table as provided
periodically by the law society of South Africa
